Holi is the ultimate festival of colors, love and spring.
It’s all about marking the beginning of spring after a long winter and the symbolic triumph of good over evil. While Holi dates back to the 4th century, it’s now celebrated throughout the world.

Dance performances + art activities at BMA
Start your celebration off with an hour of amazing performances by talented local Indian dance groups in BMA’s auditorium. Featuring traditional to fusion styles, the show is one you don’t want to miss.
Due to popular demand and limited seats, make sure to secure your spot.
BMA members can snag up to two seats for free, while non-members can reserve up to six seats with a $5 donation to the BMA.

Then from 2-4PM, head over to BMA’s Lobby for Holi-inspired crafts for all ages.

Throwing of Colors Ceremony at City Walk Bham 3:30-5PM
Don’t miss out on the festival’s main eventโthe epic color throw at City Walk Bham! With DJ Krish spinning lively tunes, it’s a colorful explosion of joy that brings the whole community together.
Each powder color carries a different meaning. For example, red symbolizes love and fertility while green stands for new beginnings.
Pro tip: wear old clothes that you donโt mind getting colorful or pre-order your $12 limited edition BMA Holi Festival shirt now.
Some 2024 shirts may be available for purchase on the day of the event in addition to a few previous year’s designs.
Orders will be available for pickup in the Museum Shop during regular business hours on the days leading up to the event and on Saturday, March 16.
