Ocean among 98 restaurants nationwide added to this prestigious list

Ocean, a staple of Five Points South for more than twenty years, recently received the Award of Excellence from the Distinguished Restaurants of North America (DiRōNA). Ocean was among 98 restaurants from around the country to receive the prestigious award.

Big news for Five Points South mainstay Ocean.

Each year, the Distinguished Restaurants of North America‘s (DiRōNA) Award of Excellence list recognizes and celebrates exceptional restaurants nationwide. To receive the award, restaurants must first be nominated by a customer; then, the DiRōNA team investigates to determine if the restaurant meets their criteria for an extraordinary dining experience.

In 2023, DiRōNA identified a total of 98 renowned restaurants for their Award of Excellence list. Of those 98 restaurants, three are in Alabama—and only one in The Magic City.
