7 farmer’s markets you need to visit this spring

One of my favorite things about The Magic City is the variety of local farmer’s markets. The days are longer and the weather is warmer, and I’m (not so) patiently awaiting spring!

Let’s celebrate the season and see all the farmer’s markets around Birmingham you can visit.

1. The Market at Brock’s Gap

Noted as “The Little Market that Could,” your support at this market benefits Alabama farmers, made-from-scratch food producers, artists and other locally-owned business owners.

Plus, you can catch the unique Night Market on March 5 for local vendors like Churro Station, Tailored Soul Clothing and so many others.

2. Spring Farmer’s Market at Ross Bridge

Whether you have kids of your own, you’re a kid at heart or both, you’re guaranteed a great time at Ross Bridge. At the spring market, you can expect:

  • Bouncy houses
  • Food trucks (BBQ, donuts, snowcones + more)
  • FREE kids face painting
  • Local vendors with jewelry, flower bouquets, clothes + sweet treats
  • The Easter Bunny himself!

Ross Bridge always has fun events to commemorate the season, and this market is no exception.

3. Alabama Farmer’s Market

Let the slogan speak for itself—“Open year-round, 365 days a year, rain or shine.” This beloved farmer’s market is a must-visit this spring.

4. Birdsong Farmer’s Market

We can’t make a farmer’s market guide and not mention Birdsong Farmer’s Market. For a variety of locally sourced produce and a chance to connect with the community, this is the place to be.

5. The Market at Pepper Place

Pepper Place is another market we can’t help but shout out. Come see what all the buzz is about at this Birmingham classic market—every Saturday, rain or shine.

6. Trussville Fresh Farmer’s Market

For everything from gulf seafood and pasture-raised meats to cut flowers and local honey, Trussville Fresh Farmer’s Market is your new go-to. They’re working hard to open up in late April—so stay tuned!

7. East Lake Farmer’s Market

This May, head out to East Lake for delicious fruits and veggies as well as gooey cinnamon rolls coffee, honey, cheese, jam and more. Sign me up!
