This local ASFA student is on her way to Carnegie Hall

It’s no secret that Birmingham is home to incredible talent. For further proof, a student at Alabama School of Fine Arts (ASFA) is headed to New York City. Why? Keep reading for what we know.

Meet ASFA’s Darrina Johnson

Darrina Johnson is a junior music student at ASFA and on February 10, she took home the gold at the Gulf Coast Steinway Piano Competition.

As a first-place winner of the senior high school division, Darrina will perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City, according to ASFA.

Darrina is bound for the Big Apple!

The Winners Concert at Carnegie Hall will be on Wednesday, June 19 at 7:00PM.
