Vestavia Hills High School’s cheer teams win big at Nationals

After winning state titles in December, the Vestavia Hills High School junior varsity (JV) and varsity cheer teams went on to win big at Nationals in Orlando last week. Keep reading for the deets.
Vestavia Cheer had a winning year
The Vestavia Rebels’ cheer squads recently won Class 7A state championships, the first for the varsity team since 2017. Then, February 9-11, the team competed at UCA Nationals in Orlando.
The JV team won a national title, keeping their undefeated season intact.
Take a look at the results from their week in Orlando:
- JV won first out of 12 teams.
- Varsity won eighth out of 58 teams.
- Both JV + Varsity went into the competition undefeated and first in their divisions.
Their cheer teams are coached by Leslie Coleman, Madison Sullivan, Shelly Sumner and Alex Evans.
