All proceeds from Foundation Ball support Rotaract’s Signature Service programs, Ready2Succeed and Ready2Read.

To learn more about these programs, we got the scoop from Brandon Cummings, Rotaract President, to see how the Club contributes to the growth of Birmingham.

Ready2Succeed is a mentorship program that helps prepare Birmingham City Schools (BCS) high school students for the college admissions process.

“Ready2Succeed benefits graduating students of A.H. Parker High School. The goal is to be a resource and to increase the number of post-secondary scholarships and financial aid applied for and awarded to these students.”

Ready2Read is a reading comprehension program that provides libraries to 2nd-grade classrooms throughout schools in Birmingham.

“Ready2Read benefits students of Avondale Elementary and i3 Academy. The purpose is to help encourage a love of reading, invest our members’ time in Birmingham-area schools and help students develop creativity and critical thinking skills.

We accomplish this by donating library books, sending members to visit classrooms twice a month to read with students and award incentive prizes to students.”

Over $25,000 was raised for these Signature Service programs at last year’s Foundation Ball.
