6 new + coming soon businesses to know about in the Greater Birmingham Area

It’s a chilly day in The Magic City, and we’re excited about some cool new openings coming to town. Keep reading for the deets.

1. Toasted Yolk | Midtown

According to the Birmingham Business Journal (BBJ), a new Texas-based breakfast and brunch eatery will soon be part of Birmingham’s Midtown dining scene. The Toasted Yolk Cafe, offering a breakfast and lunch menu, includes a dining area and a full bar. Get ready to enjoy delicious dishes, from omelettes and pancakes to sandwiches and salads.

2. Buck Creek Bed and Breakfast | Helena

Looking to book your next getaway? Escape to a genuine Southern retreat in the serene old town of Helena, Alabama. Buck Creek Bed and Breakfast, designed for family enjoyment, offers a historic experience with the comforts of home. Whether kayaking along the river or unwinding by the fire, this boutique bed and breakfast is a must-visit.

3. The Rougaroux | Mountain Brook

The beloved Cajun restaurant, Rougaroux, has opened its second location in Mountain Brook. Known for its New Orleans-style ambiance and Cajun delicacies, the menu is full of traditional po’boys with options like fried gulf shrimp, bon secour oysters, Alabama catfish and crispy eggplant.

4. Luca Lagotto + Luca Mercato Lagotto | Homewood

Experience an authentic taste of Italy in Homewood with Luca Lagotto, PRG’s latest full-service Italian restaurant. Executive Chefs Rita Bernhardt and Paul Yeck present a menu full of traditional flavors, from small plates to fresh pastas and pizzas. Right next door will be Luca Mercato Lagotto—a charming market that sells a selection of prepared foods, wines and specialty products rarely found outside Italy.

5. Trellis Nursery | Patchwork Farms

According to the Birmingham Business Journal (BBJ), a new plant nursery is coming soon to Vestavia Hills. Trellis Nursery will feature a 1,500-square-foot building with an attached open-air pavilion storage area for filtered light and shade plants located in the Patchwork Farms development. Plus—you can expect full sun plant storage areas on the exterior of the building.

6. Pastries on Main | Columbiana

Pastries on Main is scheduled to open in downtown Columbiana by the end of January, offering a variety of desserts such as cakes, French pastries, croissants, donuts and cobblers, according to the Shelby County Reporter. The bakery will also feature a selection of coffee, cappuccinos and lattes.
