Birmingham native and director Ayanna Shon has released a new Christmas movie filmed right here in The Magic City. Titled Just in Time for the Holidays, this heartwarming holiday flick focuses on the importance of family. Plus, it’s available to stream now on Tubi.

Birmingham director Ayanna Shon’s latest Christmas film

With her own film studio (CBA Studios) and four feature films under her belt, Ayanna Shon has become a prolific director in the Birmingham area. Last year, we reported the release of Shon’s film Holiday Hypnosis—a comedy-drama following protagonist Nikki and her crazy family during the holiday season.

Her latest Christmas movie takes a more sincere approach. According to Shon, the film is centered around Allen, a recently-divorced single dad of three who is still grieving the death of his first wife, juggling his career and fatherhood during the holiday season. Just In Time for the Holidays is a personal dedication to her family and loved ones that she has lost throughout the years.

“My hope is this film becomes a staple in households as one of your family’s favorite holiday movies, as you guys look forward to watching it together each christmas. As a Birmingham native, it is very rewarding to be able to bring more attention to the state and city. We took pleasure filming this movie in Dolomite, Alabama as we received much love from the community.”
