Happy Monday, Birmingham. Check out these nine new businesses that are opening, and a sneak peek of those that are coming soon. Plus— find out who is relocating and who is closing. Let’s get right into the news.

1. Girl Scout DreamLab | Vestavia Hills

The Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama is set to unveil a groundbreaking DreamLab in Vestavia Hills—the first of its kind in Alabama and the southeastern region, and the largest in the United States.

2. Velma’s | Trussville

Velma’s has re-opened after more than 10 years since closing in 2012. The beloved Velma’s, named after the owner’s wife, opened in 1938 and became a go-to community spot for burgers, beer and karaoke. The new owners Tammy and Royce Butler are ready for people to check out the new and improved bar.

3. Crumbl Cookies | Mountain Brook

Crumbl Cookies is open in Mountain Brook! Get ready for a weekly rotating menu with flavors of your dreams like Cinnamon Frybread. They taste as good as they look and come in a signature pink box.

4. Maple Avenue Coffee House | Trussville

Maple Avenue Coffee House is a highly anticipated addition to the downtown Trussville scene. The new neighborhood coffee house is the place for to-go drinks and treats, or a spot to have meetings + catch up with friends.

6. Outback Steakhouse | 20 Midtown

Calling all Bloomin’ Onion lovers. The popular Outback Steakhouse, founded in the late 80s, is planning to open in early 2024 at 20 Midtown across from Publix.

7. The Lotus Catfe | Alabaster

The Lotus Catfe, located in Alabaster, is a unique spot featuring adoptable cats, a cafe and yoga studio all in one great place.

8. Japanese restaurant | The Frank

According to the Birmingham Business Journal( BBJ), A new Japanese restaurant, which has not yet been named, is coming to downtown Birmingham. The BBJ reported the restaurant will also include an exclusive private courtyard patio.

9. Inglenook Yoga Studio | Inglenook

Let’s give a warm welcome to The Magic City’s very first Black Owned Yoga School and Studio. Inglenook Yoga Studio is a safe supportive environment to start, deepen or develop your yoga practice.

Closings

1. Little Donkey | Greystone relocating in 2024

According to a sign outside the restaurant, Little Donkey Greystone will be relocating in 2024. The new Little Donkey will be located at the upcoming Valley Post development at the former site of the TreeTop entertainment facility.

2. Birmingham Oddities | Downtown
