These six Greater Birmingham organizations are saying “thank you” by serving FREE Thanksgiving meals to the community. Keep reading for where to get a free Thanksgiving meal this year and where you can volunteer to serve one, too.
1. The Salvation Army Greater Birmingham
The Salvation Army of Greater Birmingham is hosting a Thanksgiving lunch with their mission to end food insecurity in Birmingham in mind.

2. Alpha Phi Alpha
The Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity is making a good name of their chapter with their 10th annual turkey day give away.
It is first come, first serve while supplies last—one turkey per family.

3. Little Income Tax Service LLC
Little Income Tax Service LLC is hosting it’s 3rd annual Thanksgiving food box give-away.
This will be first come, first serve and they will have 100 boxes, one box per car.

- Where: The Legacy YMCA, 4th Avenue Southwest, Bessemer, AL
4. Alexander Shunnarah – Turkey Drive-thru
The face of the South’s most notable billboard is giving away 1,000 free turkeys to families in need. One turkey per vehicle.

5. Community Kitchens
Community Kitchens offers warm midday meals every day of the year. And this Thanksgiving, they’re serving a special lunch plate with all your favorites.

6. Birmingham DSA’s Mutual Aid Committee
A free Thanksgiving dinner will be served at Linn Park as part of the DSA’s monthly Direct Food Action program. They will also distribute socks and hygiene products to surrounding communities.

Jimmie Hale Mission is aiming to serve the homeless and hurting this holiday season. Help them reach their goal of giving 10,000 meals to those in need.
