22+ Christmas tree lightings, holiday parades and more in Birmingham

Bham Now has compiled our annual list of Christmas Tree lightings, parades and more for November and December 2023. Keep reading to find out more about the Magic City’s holiday season.

1. Trussville community Caroling & Tree Lighting Ceremony –November 26

On November 26 from 4PM-6PM, gather with the community to celebrate with Christmas carols, a tree lighting and more at West Mall in Trussville. Hot cocoa, cookies, and Christmas activities will be available for free. The mayor and Santa will light the tree at 6PM.

2. Hoover Christmas Tree Lighting – November 28

The annual Christmas tree lighting for Hoover will be on November 28 at Hoover City Hall. Stop by for refreshments, a performance by the Hoover City School Band & Choir, snacks and more.

3. Vestavia Hills Tree Lighting Festival (Nov. 28) and Parade (Dec. 3)

Stop by the Vestavia Hills City Hall and Civic Center on November 28 at 6PM to watch the tree lighting, take a picture with Santa, snacks and more.

On December 3, go to Liberty Park and Ballfields for the Parade and Party in the Park at 2PM.

4. Montevallo Christmas Parade – November 30

The Montevallo Christmas Parade will be on November 30 at 6PM at the Montevallo High School parking lot and will continue along Main Street.

5. Irondale Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting – December 1

On December 1 from 6PM-8PM, the Irondale Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting will start at Irondale City Hall.

6. Bluff Park Christmas Parade

The Bluff Park Christmas Parade is scheduled for December 2 at 10AM. It will begin at Bluff Park Community Park and is open to the entire community–not just Bluff Park.

7. City of Birmingham Holiday Block Party and Tree Lighting – December 3

Bring a chair to sit back, relax and enjoy the Birmingham Holiday Block Party at 4PM in front of Birmingham’s City Hall. Food trucks, entertainment and more will be available at this free event. The tree lighting will be at 5:30PM.

8. Mountain Brook Holiday Parade – December 3

The Mountain Brook Holiday Parade will be from 3PM to 4:30PM on December 3 at Mountain Brook Village.

9. Pinson Christmas Parade – December 4

The Pinson Christmas Parade will kick off at 7PM on December 4 at Pinson Bicentennial Park.

10. Homewood Lighting of the Christmas Star and Parade – December 5

The annual Homewood Christmas Parade will begin at the Homewood Public Library at 6:30PM on December 5.

11. Gardendale Christmas Parade – December 6

The Gardendale Christmas Parade kicks off Thursday, December 6 at 6PM in Downtown Gardendale.

12. Gardendale Rocket Around the Christmas Tree Trail – December 6

The Gardendale Christmas Tree Trail is coming December 7 and will continue for a uniquely month-long event.

13. Leeds Christmas Parade – December 6

On December 8 at 7PM, join the Leeds Christmas Parade, led by the Leeds Chamber of Commerce.

14. Hueytown Christmas in the Park (Dec 1) and Christmas Parade (Dec. 9)

Gather at New City Park in Hueytown at 6PM December 1 for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Santa’s Workshop. On December 9 at 10AM, the annual Hueytown Christmas Tree Parade will kick off at 110 Sunset Drive. This year’s theme is How the Grinch Stole Christmas–plus, you can participate in the parade itself for $25.

15. Center Point Annual Holiday Tree Lighting – December 9

The Center Point Annual Holiday Tree Lighting and Christmas Parade will begin on December 9th at 11AM at the Cathedral of the Cross.

17. Lights of Noel Drive-Thru Holiday Light Show – November 17-January 1.

Lights of Noel is the largest holiday drive-through light show in Alabama–and it’s located right here in Birmingham! Stop by while it runs from November 17 until January 1st daily from 5PM until midnight.

18. Magic of Lights Birmingham – November 17-December 31

Located at Alabama Adventure, Magic of Lights Birmingham is opening November 17 with over 2 million lights in their drive-through Christmas light show.

19. Christmas on the Mountain – November 30

Shelby County’s Christmas on the Mountain will be at Heardmont Park from 5:30PM-9PM with vendors, a tree lighting and more.

20. Helena Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Market – December 1

Join the Helena community for food, shopping, music and more at the Helena Welcome Center during the evening of December 1

21. Bessemer’s “A Universal Christmas” Parade – December 9

One of the largest Christmas parades in the Birmingham metro area.

22. Vulcan’s Holiday Experience – December 9

Vulcan Park and Museum will offer hot chocolate, extended hours, music, Santa and more from 6PM-8PM on December 9 for festive fun.
