1. Attend the Mentone Fall Festival, Oct. 21

Festivals in Mentone, Alabama. (DeKalb County Tourism)

Nothing beats a fall-inspired festival, and if you plan now, you can bring a little bit of Bham to the first annual Mentone Fall Festival, hosted by the Town of Mentone. On Saturday, October 21, the town will come to life in a celebration of creativity and connection with live music, art, crafts, good food and more.

The festival will take place at the historic campus of Moon Lake Elementary School, now known as Moon Lake Village. Founded in 1911, its closing in 2021 led to the Board of Education deeding the campus to the town of Mentone. The result? The creation of Moon Lake Village, a space for shops, crafts workspaces and entertainment events.

All funds raised at the festival will be used by the town for the restoration of the historic property.

Bonus: There will be a concert to kick off the event on Friday, Oct. 20 at the Mentone Inn from 7-10PM.
