With the support of gener8tor and Prosper, the Texas-based company Greens made the move to Birmingham earlier this year.

After a family member was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, the founders of Greens started an app that offers meal predictions for teens with diabetes to help make maintenance and treatment easier for them and their families.

How does it work? Greens uses real-time food photos and specialized technology to assist in carbohydrate calculation. They focus on serving people in marginalized populations in an effort to address determinants to health and barriers like transportation, lack of childcare and more.
