Raise a glass! These six upcoming Birmingham galas, all supporting great local causes, are can’t-miss events. From the zoo to the theater, you’ll want to put on your cocktail attire and grab a ticket.

1. Evening of Dreams Annual Fundraising Gala

The Evening of Dreams fundraiser is an annual event hosted by Sozo Children, a local Christian organization helping children in need in the Birmingham community. The 2023 Evening of Dreams will feature a silent auction, dinner, program and live auction. You’ll want to come ready to bid—these auction items are really impressive and proceeds go toward an impactful cause.

The Alabama Symphony Orchestra’s largest fundraising event of the year, The Maestro Ball, is back again in 2023. Of course, it wouldn’t be an ASO event without a performance. The Maestro Ball will feature cocktail reception and performance, all supporting the incredible programs that ASO offers to the Birmingham community.

3. 2023 VIVA Health Gala

The 2023 VIVA Health Gala is entitled, “A Night at the Arts”—and they take that name seriously. Supporting AEIVA, Alys Stephens Center, ArtPlay and Arts in Medicine, there will be several mesmerizing features at this gala. You’ll find unforgettable art displays, stunning performances from young ArtPlay performers, a private concert from Keb’ Mo’ and more.

4. Zoo Gala

Another of the largest fundraising events of the year is at the Birmingham Zoo. This year, the theme is “Flamingo Flamboyance,” and they’re running with the theme, going all out. There will be animal encounters, food, an open bar, an auction and live music by Emerald Empire for a “wildly unique” party.

5. Harvest of Hope

Harvest of Hope is an annual event supporting Cornerstone Schools, whose vision is, “to be a world-class, Christ-centered school in the inner city.” This year is the 20th Harvest of Hope, and they’re celebrating with a dinner, program, auction and more. They’ll also highlight this year’s Honoree and Volunteer of the Year.

6. Inaugural SneakerBall

If you’re looking to ditch the heels and dress shoes and throw on some sneakers, this one’s for you. The Inaugural SneakerBall is hosted by Lambda Eta Sigma Alumnae Chapter Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and Purposely Rooted Collective. There will be a DJ, photo booth, best-dressed contest, raffle prizes hors d’oeuvres and more. Proceeds will go toward The Golden Key Scholarship and PRC Programming.
