Labor Day is next Monday, September 4. Since it’s a federal holiday, some businesses will be closed—but don’t fret! We’re here to help you navigate what’s open and closed around Birmingham.

All of Birmingham being open on Labor Day is unfortunately too good to be true. Here’s a few places you’ll have to wait until Tuesday to see.

  • Banks are generally closed on Labor Day, but ATMs will still be available.
  • Jefferson County courthouses will be closed.
  • Public + most private schools are closed for the holiday.
  • USPS will not deliver mail.
