Stix in Hoover has reopened under new ownership
Reading time: 2 minutes
Look who’s back– popular Hoover hibachi and sushi restaurant Stix has reopened at the Riverchase Galleria. The spot, which was closed by previous owners in March, is back in business according to the Birmingham Business Journal.
Revived by new ownership
Back in March of this year, the previous owners of Stix announced its closing with a sign on the door thanking customers for their support over the years.
Now, only a few months later, it is being reopened by Yapstix Group Inc. with 18 employees, reports the BBJ.
A Hoover favorite
Ann Dy, the new operator of Stix explained that interest was sparked for the restaurant due to its reputation as a hibachi favorite in Birmingham.
“One of the investors grew up just loving the hibachi way of cooking and always dreamed of possibly having a hibachi table at home but was discouraged by the family. Stix has been the absolute favorite of the hibachi places in Birmingham, so when they heard it closed, they were so disappointed. After a few weeks, Yapstix Group heard that the restaurant was available, and that is when the story begins and some renovation was done to the place, so it took a few months before we were able to open.”
