Pelham’s “International Food Corner” opens two new restaurants
Reading time: 2 minutes
Two new restaurants have set up shop in the Pelham area. According to the most recent city of Pelham newsletter, Wok On In and Tequila’s Mexican Grill & Cantina are now open in the Pelham Plaza Shopping Center down from Mi Pueblo.
International food destination
The shopping center has become a growing destination for various international cuisines, housing Café Trentuno, Mi Pueblo and now Wok On In and Tequila’s. “We now have Italian, Latino, and Asian all in one general area,” Robert Moy, owner of Wok On In, told the Pelham newsletter.
Keep reading to learn more about what these two new spots are serving up.
Wok On In
The new Chinese-inspired restaurant serves a wide array of dishes ranging from classic to unconventional. Moy’s family is from China but he grew up in California– which is why you can find things on the menu like the teriyaki avocado hamburger or lomo saltado, a Peruvian beef stir fry.
Whether you stick to the classics or like to step out of the box, Wok On In has something for everybody. Want to try a little of everything? They serve a lunch buffet 11AM-2PM.
Location: 3018 Pelham Pkwy # 104, Pelham, AL 35124
Hours: 11AM-8:30PM daily, closed Wednesdays
Tequila’s Mexican Cantina & Grill
While Tequila’s has been opened for a few months now, the restaurant is catching fire as people discover all that their menu has to offer. As well as serving Mexican classics, Tequila’s also specializes in Caribbean and Cuban cuisine.
They also have a full bar and daily specials, such as street tacos on Tuesdays and $3 domestic beer on Thursdays. If you don’t drink, have no fear– Tequila’s is a go-to spot for refreshing smoothies, aqua frescas and Dominican staple morir sonandos to help you cool off.
Location: 3018 Pelham Pkwy Suite 101, Pelham, AL 35124
Hours: 11AM-9PM Sunday-Thursday, 11AM-10PM Friday-Saturday
