Run (or walk) for a cause
This is a race like no other. The 4.97-mile course includes a scenic route that starts at the Ross Bridge Village Center and crosses through six of the resort town’s neighborhoods, including some trails, before circling back to the village center. Support people like Christina Crockett—hear her incredible story
Not only is the race a fun and productive way to spend your Saturday, but it will help make an impact on the people whose lives ALATC is changing.
We spoke with Christina Crockett to hear her testimony of how her life was restored.
“In the summer of 2017, after spending over 20 years enslaved by addiction, I found myself standing on a bridge wanting to take my life. I had hit ‘rock bottom’ many times before, but not like this. Something wouldn’t let me jump though. I would later learn that God often allows us to hit rock bottom so that we can discover that He is The Rock at the bottom.”
According to Christina, she was living a lifestyle that alienated her from those who care about her. After ending up in jail, her mom gave her one option: the Adult & Teen Challenge of Alabama Women’s Training Center.
“I reluctantly decided to go. It wasn’t that I didn’t want my life to change. I just didn’t believe it was possible for someone like me to ever live a successful and happy life. But I was so wrong. I am now happily married to Godly man and pastor that loves me greatly. We have dedicated our lives to ministry and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with the lost and broken.”
Since graduating from ALATC, Christina has faced three battles with cancer and is cancer free and happy today.
“I have faced some hard days since graduating the program, but I’ve applied its principles and used God’s Word as my ‘road map’ to guide me on this journey in my new life. God has turned this hopeless, homeless addict into a hope-spreading homeowner. If He can turn a mess like my life into something beautiful and well worth living, He can do it for anyone.”
