July is just around the corner and if you’re like me, you love any reason to celebrate. Good news—it’s the perfect time to celebrate anything and everything. July is the official month for many of our favorite things in life—blueberries, hotdogs, ice cream, you name it. National Watermelon Month… and other fruits
That’s right—July is the national month to eat all the blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and watermelon you can. We know that’s a lot, but we also know of some pretty cool places to shop for these fruits and more. The Birmingham farmer’s market scene is top-notch. Here are some to visit:
National Hotdog Month
Who doesn’t love a good hotdog on the Fourth of July? You can enjoy a summertime fave all month long at Birmingham-area hotdog joints like:
National Grilling Month

3. Try unique grilled food
Have you ever tried grilled fruit? FUN TIP: Gather the many fruits July is famous for and put them on the grill for a scrumptious feast.
National Ice Cream Month
My personal favorite thing to celebrate: ice cream. It’s impossible to name all the amazing creameries around Alabama, let alone Birmingham. Here are a few (out of many) of the best ice cream shops in town:
