17th annual Birmingham Bowl date set before Christmas

The 17th  Birmingham Bowl will have a Christmas theme this year.

The 2023 edition will be played on Saturday, December 23, 11AM at Protective Stadium on ABC. 

The game will feature teams  from the Southeastern Conference, the American Athletic Conference or Atlantic Coast Conference

Holiday Season

β€œAs we prepare for the 17th Birmingham Bowl, we look forward to our third game at Protective Stadium,” said Mark Meadows, Birmingham Bowl Executive Director. β€œWith students out for the holidays and families able to attend together, we look forward to a great turnout and another competitive game right here in Birmingham during the holiday season.”

Participating teams will be announced on Sunday, December 3rd. 

Supporting the Community

The annual bowl game generates over $173 million in economic impact for the Birmingham community, according to figures provided by the Greater Birmingham Convention & Visitors Bureau. 

The game has raised and donated over $430,000 to the Quarterbacking Children’s Health Foundation, the charitable arm of the  Monday Morning Quarterback Club.
