Two popular retailers are opening on Highway 280 right before Memorial Day.

Shoe Station Opens May 19th

A new Shoe Station is holding a grand opening event from Friday,  May 19 to Sunday, May 21 at Brook Highland Plaza in North Shelby County (5275 Highway 280 South 35242). 

There will be a wide range of giveaways happening throughout all three days, including:

  • First 100 customers each day receive a Shoe Station swag bag
  • 2 tickets to the Alabama-Texas game
  • Cash prizes and gift certificates

Headquartered in South Carolina, Shoe Station is a one-stop family footwear destination that offers an impressive selection from top brands. This will be the retailer’s second location in the Birmingham Metro area: Shoe Station opened their first store in the region at the Vestavia City Center last year. 

Nordstrom Rack Opens May 25th

Back in January 2022, Nordstrom’s announced they were relocating its present location near Highway 280 at River Ridge to The Summit. That move is coming to fruition on May 25th, according to The Summit website.

The new location, which is next to REI, is the only Nordstrom Rack in the state of Alabama.

A part of the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, Inc.,The Rack offers customers up to 70 percent off on-trend apparel, accessories, beauty, home and shoes from many of the top brands sold at Nordstrom stores. 

The Rack carries merchandise from Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com, as well as specially purchased items from many of the top brands sold at Nordstrom. The Rack is the number one largest source of new customers to Nordstrom and serves as a great introduction for new customers who may have never shopped at one of Nordstrom stores.
