Life as a caregiver of small children has lots of sweet moments, but let’s be honest, it’s also tough. I have just what you need to turn those hard days into bright ones—Itty Bitty Magic City.

This special place is located inside McWane Science Center and is designed for children ages six and under. Created by McWane’s team of Early Childhood Educators, the 10,000-square-foot space lets little ones explore, experiment, discover and learn through creative and constructive play.

Here are some of the attractions you’ll find inside Itty Bitty Magic City:

  • Tinker Shop: Itty Bitty Magic City’s newest addition, the Tinker Shop is the perfect place for children to build creative problem-solving skills. 
  • Main Street: A stop on Main Street is a must when visiting Itty Bitty Magic City. This pint-sized town features interactive pretend zones like a fire station, farm, veterinarian clinic, market, diner and garage.
  • Tot Spot: Have a little one who’s always on the move? Toddlers and parents alike will love the Tot Spot, which provides McWane’s youngest visitors a secure space to explore and play to their heart’s content.
  • Climbing Structure: Kiddos can’t get enough of this thrilling Climbing Structure. Designed with safety in mind, it engages early learners at every skill and developmental level.
  • Water Play: Nothing is better than a water-filled adventure. From water domes to squirting toys, fun is just a splash away.

Another thing to know about Itty Bitty Magic City is that it offers weekly early childhood programming throughout the year. Here’s a look at the schedule:

  • Demonstration Station: Wednesdays + Saturdays at 10:30AM
  • Tinker Shop: Thursdays + Saturdays at 2:30PM
  • Little Labs: Thursdays at 10:30AM + Fridays at 3:30PM
  • Top Spot Explorers: Fridays at 10:30AM (Children ages 2 and under)
  • Light Up Learning: Sundays at 3:30PM

Great McWane Egg Drop Day | April 8

Get ready for egg-splosions and egg-speriments during the Great McWane Egg Drop Day on April 8. Using provided supplies, you’ll create a unique contraption that will hold your egg and keep it save when dropped from McWane’s rooftop! If your egg survives the fall, you’ll win a golden egg trophy.
