The Edge 12 has closed after 13 years in business. The theater announced that they closed permanently effective Sunday, April 2.

Over a decade in business

Located in the former Festival 18 location on Crestwood Boulevard, The Edge 12 opened in 2010. The remodeled cinema featured:

  • 12 screens
  • 4 3-D screens
  • All stadium-seating
  • Self-serve drink stations

In 2011, the Birmingham City Council approved the theater’s beer and wine license, making it one of the first dine-in theaters in town that served alcohol and food. In recent years, the cinema became a discount theater in response to competing dine-in theaters.

The Edge 12 made their closing announcement on their Google page last weekend. According to the announcement, gift cards may be refunded by emailing info@phoenixtheatres.com.
