What’s better than shopping for your favorite knick-knacks or exploring new, local Birmingham businesses? Answer: if those places are on wheels. We’ve scoured the town and found some of the best buses in The Magic City. Keep reading if you want to hear about all these shops on the go.
1. House Plant Collective
House Plant Collective (HPC) brings you plants in their pop-up shop bus. They seek to foster a community built on the love and joy that comes alongside caring for plants. HPC usually offers events like workshops and plant swaps for all you plant lovers out there. Check out HPC on their socials to see where this mobile plant shop is headed.
2. Cigar Lounge
Serving clients ages 30+, the Incognito Mobile Cigar Lounge provides a private, luxury experience for a number of occasions like bachelor parties and corporate events. Before climbing aboard, there are some rules to know about the mobile lounge:
- Cigars are not for sale on the bus.
- There is a dress code. No sweats.
- Cigars only. No hookahs, cigarettes or other smoking paraphernalia.
Since launching in August 2022, Incognito is a great way to connect with other cigar enthusiasts.
3. Birmingham Public Library Mobile
The Birmingham Public Library (BPL) Mobile is not your average bookmobile. BPL Mobile offers many services that are available in libraries such as:
- Free Wi-Fi
- Library story times
- Notarizing and printing
BPL Mobile travels throughout the 99 neighborhoods of the City of Birmingham and is dedicated to bridging the gap between citizen services and underserved communities. You can request this bookmobile at your next event, or give your suggestions for a new BPL Mobile stop.
See the BPL calendar of events and check out when BPL Mobile will be in your neighborhood.
4. Struggle Bus Bham
No, not that kind of struggle bus. Struggle Bus Bham offers three buses (Big White, Big Purple + Lil Struggle) available for bar crawls, weddings, concerts and more. With the Struggle Bus, you’re guaranteed a good time. We’ve heard it’s the best party on wheels.
In 2021, local moms launched their redesigned 1970s camper to bring their coffee bar (complete with Seeds Coffee) to scheduled stops like The Market at Rocky Ridge and the Summit. They also offer custom cocktail services for private events.
