Featured in Architectural Digest’s AD 100, Pierce, her husband Austin Scaggs and their two children left their home in Nashville without any idea where they would end up. The family had tried multiple cities throughout the United States until they finally found their home in Birmingham. Pierce had grown up in The Magic City but had not returned since she was 18.

According to Architectural Digest, Pierce’s parents had recently moved back to Birmingham and “marveled at how much it had changed for the better.” Now, Birmingham is home to thriving creative scenes, perfect to meet any poetic needs for art and design.

Pierce and Scaggs’ Tudor-style home sits on a bluff overlooking downtown Birmingham in a neighborhood filled with 1920s properties. Pierce shared her experience in finding her family’s home with Architectural Digest.

“Both of us immediately looked at each other like, ‘This is it. This is the house.'”
