The holidays are a special time of joy and celebration, and this year they’ll be more magical than ever. Mark your calendars for Sunday, December 4 for Experience Christmas—Asbury United Methodist Church’s all-new FREE event featuring a live nativity and festive, family fun. Read on for why you should attend.

1. You’ll enjoy the festive + family-friendly activities

There’s nothing like sweet treats and fun crafts during the holidays. During Asbury’s Experience Christmas event, you can enjoy both.

When you arrive, join in the festivities under the tent (just outside Asbury’s sanctuary). Here, you and your family can make your very own Christmas ornaments and delight in tasty cookies and warm hot cocoa, and get a photo with Santa.

If you’re hungry for dinner, you can buy it on the spot from food trucks like Hey Bebe and Southern Coffee and Waffles.

2. You’ll be transported to Bethlehem to see a live nativity

You likely know what a nativity scene is. In fact, you may even set up your own as part of your annual holiday decorations. But have you ever been to a live nativity? If not, Asbury’s Experience Christmas event on December 4 is your chance.

When you attend this special event, you’ll venture through a bustling Bethlehem marketplace at the base of Prayer Mountain (on Asbury’s campus). Then, together with your family, you’ll follow the star to a lowly stable where animals and shepherds watch over a newborn baby Christ child.

With real people and live animals portraying the miracle of Christmas in an interactive and engaging theatrical setting, this live nativity is sure to captivate you and your family.

3. You’ll feel a sense of community
