Rougaroux to open new location in Mountain Brook in 2023

Since 2017, The Rougaroux has been serving up mouthwatering po’boys, gumbo and boudin and more in Forest Park. Now, the restaurant is planning to bring their New Orleans fare to Mountain Brook! Keep reading to learn more about The Rougaroux’s upcoming location.

Coming to Mountain Brook in 2023

Before my fellow Forest Park residents get worked up, let me clarify—the Forest Park Rougaroux will not be closing or moving. Instead, the beloved restaurant will be opening a second location in Mountain Brook in Spring 2023.

The Mountain Brook Rougaroux will be located in the heart of Mountain Brook Village, in the former Sneaky Pete’s space at 2716 Culver Road. Over the coming months, the Rougaroux team will work with architect Andrew Taylor and general contractor Hallmark Builders to preserve the character of the existing space while delivering a new restaurant experience that fans of The Rougaroux will love.

“We believe that Rougaroux is a wonderful fit for Mountain Brook Village because it appeals to a wide range of customers and there’s nothing comparable in the Village. We are personally huge fans of the Forest Park Rougaroux. We believe this second location will provide patrons with a different experience but the same fantastic food.  We hope Rougaroux will become a staple in Mountain Brook Village for years to come.”

What to expect at The Rougaroux

If you haven’t tried The Rougaroux yet, don’t wait until 2023! Located in Forest Park in a historic 1800’s era Pink House, the original Rougaroux offers all the po’boys, gumbo, house-made boudin and more that a fan of New Orleans cuisine could ask for.

Pro Tip: I almost always spring for The Rougaroux’s daily special burgers. I’ve had a poutine burger, an alligator chili burger and many more—and they’re always delicious!
