6. Birmingham Artwalk

What: Birmingham Artwalk is a two-day art festival that transforms Downtown Birmingham into an arts district. Expect featured work from 50+ visual artists, live musicians, street performers, food and drink vendors and children’s activities. More info.

7. Thornton Dial: I, Too, Am Alabama

What: The first retrospective covering Thornton Dial’s entire career and the first large-scale exhibition of his work in his home state of Alabama. The exhibition features masterworks spanning Dial’s entire career including sculpture, works on paper and assemblages, with many works that have never been previously exhibited or published. 11. Magic City Harvest’s annual Tailgate fundraiser

What: Support Magic City Harvest and their mission to end waste and end hunger. All you have to do is pick up food from Rodney Scott’s and Little Donkey in Homewood on Friday, September 16 from 2-7PM and proceeds will benefit the organization.
