Decades of adventure

Formerly DeSoto Caverns, Majestic Caverns has been serving individuals and groups unforgettable adventures for over 40 years with guided Caverns Tours, live entertainment, many unique attractions and award-winning fudge. (We tried it yesterday…can confirm.)

Located just 36 miles southeast of Birmingham down Highway 280, there is so much to learn at Majestic Caverns. Not to mention, there’s also over 20 outside attractions that include a maze, gem panning, crystal find, wacky water golf, archery and more. What’s not to like?

New and improved: Majestic Caverns

According to a statement from Majestic Caverns, it’s actually been a long time coming for a name change:

“We’ve had a problem we have needed to solve for a while. We had already come to the conclusion that we needed to change the name of our show cave for many significant reasons. And five years ago, as a part of that process, we secured the trademark for Majestic Caverns. But a lot of consideration, such as communication and timing, goes into changing the name of a business.”

Changing the name of classic DeSoto Caverns was no small decision. Because DeSoto Caverns is well-known throughout the state, and has been in the memory banks of guests for the past forty years, it’s a pretty big deal. So why the change, and why Majestic Caverns?

The story-housing magnificent setting needed a name that would span the ages of its history as well as reflect the feeling guests get when they enter the beautiful cave. For years, it has been a place that has inspired and overwhelmed those who have entered and experienced the beauty.

So, it really has always been the majestic caverns. Now it’s just official!

Reaching the hearts of guests

The goal of Majestic Caverns is and has been to reach the hearts of their guests. Nothing will change about that. As before, Majestic Caverns will continue to demonstrate their core values of excellence, teamwork and care.

According to their website, “The new name does not reflect a change in management or tickets, it simply better expresses the enduring beauty of the caverns, honoring how those throughout history have described it and it allows us to reach the hearts of our guests even better.”

The name change comes at the perfect time. This year is the International Year of Caves and Majestic Caverns is celebrating with an event to kick off National Cave Week and National Cave Day!
