Ride of Silence
This Wednesday, The Birmingham Bicycle Club will host the 2022 Ride of Silence, starting and finishing at the Civil Rights Institute.
The ride, which is held during National Bike Month, aims to raise the awareness of motorists, police and city officials that cyclists have a legal right to the public roadways. The ride is also a chance to show respect for and honor the lives of those who have been killed or injured.
- When: May 18, 2022
- Time: ceremony beginning at 6:45PM, rolling at 7PM
- Location: Birmingham Civil Rights Institute
- Ride pace is 10 to 12 MPH and will be escorted by the Birmingham Police Department
Bike to Work day
The League of American Bicyclists promotes the Ride of Silence side by side with national Bike Month and Bike to Work day, held on the third Friday in May.
The observance of Bike to Work day encourages us to bike to work and raises awareness of cyclists as they commute to and from work each day. National Bike to Work Day promotes the bicycle as a healthy and safe alternative for commuting to work.
Be a part of Bike to Work day this year at CommuteSmart and Redemptive Cycles’ fun event!
- When: May 20, 2022
- Time: 7AM-10AM
- Location: Redemptive Cycles
