Local mountain biking advocacy group Birmingham Urban Mountain Pedalers (BUMP), was one of 19 nonprofits across the globe to receive a $20,000 grant from Fox Factory’s Trail Trust program. Read on for details.

The grant

If you haven’t heard of Fox Factory’s Trail Trust program, let me catch you up. Fox Factory Holding Corp. is an American company best known for their Fox Racing Shox brand of off-road racing suspension components. The company created the Trail Trust program to provide grants to organizations in order to help preserve the places we love to play, like biking trails and more. According to globenewswire.com, since Trail Trust launched in November 2021, it has contributed more than $600,000 to over 40 nonprofits.

With a goal of bringing together diverse communities to build, maintain and expand access to trails, Trail Trust has contributed over $150,000 to 19 nonprofits across the world during the first quarter of 2022 to help expand education and experiential opportunities outdoors. Who was one of the lucky 19? One of The Magic City’s very own nonprofits—Birmingham Urban Mountain Pedalers!

“I am thrilled to learn that Trail Trust has chosen to support Birmingham Urban Mountain Pedalers (BUMP) with this latest round of grants. I know this will have a huge impact on mountain biking in Alabama by enabling us to continue to develop and improve the amazing trail system at Oak Mountain State Park. I’m truly thankful to work for a company like Fox that gives back so much to our local communities.”
