I’m sure you already know Birmingham is a foodie paradise, but during BRW’s 2022 – Winter Edition, it’s guaranteed to blow your mind.

Organized by Style Advertising and James Little, the event takes place from February 17-26 and features locally-owned Birmingham-area restaurants, food trucks and bars that will wow you with incredible meals and deals. That’s 10 full days to indulge on $5-$50 multi-course, chef-curated meals and bartender-created cocktails while supporting Birmingham’s local food scene. They need us now more than ever!

One thing the pandemic has taught us is to adapt to change. This is especially true for local restaurants and bars. To safely serve patrons who don’t want to dine in, participating businesses will offer to-go and curbside options. Many restaurants have made special accommodations to allow for al fresco dining, too, with things like outdoor high-powered heaters, fire pits, cabana tents and enclosed patios.

So, how do you get your eat on? Whether you choose to dine in or order your meal to go, selecting where to eat and what dishes to get is easy thanks to BRW’s search filter powered by Bham Now. This handy tool lets you filter by meal type, price range, location and more. Easy peasy.

What’s on the menu?

With all this food talk, you must be getting hungry! Lucky for you, there are numerous restaurants, food trucks and bars participating in BRW 2022 – Winter Edition. So rev up those cravings—here are just some of the places on the list:

Lovin’ Local

Birmingham Restaurant Week
Cheers to Birmingham’s food + drink scene at Michael’s Restaurant. (Birmingham Restaurant Week)

We all love a fun dining experience, but BRW means so much more. With the countless struggles the restaurant industry has faced since 2020, it’s more important than ever to support our local culinary industry.

So, whether you dine in or order your food to go, you’ll be supporting local at the same time. And, honestly, what could be better than that?

“During the pandemic, many restaurants were able to avoid closing their doors by offering curbside pick-up, to-go and delivery services, but now restaurants are facing labor shortages that are making operating normally challenging. With BRW, our goal is not only to promote locally owned restaurants but to provide assistance to them where we are able to. Without our restaurants, the vibrancy of our culinary community will diminish.”

A portion of funds from BRW 2022 – Winter Edition is donated to local nonprofits, too, so you’ll be giving back to the community while you dine. In its 13 years, BRW has helped raise more than $80,000 for local nonprofits.

After Restaurant Week in 2021, BRW and Tito’s Handmade Vodka donated $2500 each to Firehouse Ministries and Community Food Bank of Central Alabama (CFBCA)—two local organizations that seek to diminish food insecurity.

Participating restaurants include: Ash Homewood, Aww Shucks, Bay Leaf Modern Indian Cuisine & Bar, Blueroot, Dread River Distilling Co., EATS Highland, El ZunZĂşn, Farrelly’s Southern Bar & Kitchen, Filter Coffee Parlor, Iron City Grill, Michael’s Restaurant, Moonshine Rooftop Bar at Elyton Hotel, Ovenbird Restaurant, Red Mountain Crawfish, Rojo, Roots & Revelry, Sabor Latino, Slice Pizza and Brewhouse – Lakeview, Slice Pizza and Brewhouse – Vestavia, Sol Y Luna, Steel Gastropub, The Current at Cahaba, The Gardens Cafe by Kathy G., The Fennec, The Yard Birmingham at Elyton Hotel, Tropicaleo, Vino, Watkins Branch Bourbon & Brasserie and Whole Latte Drip.
