Tostadas is the latest 2021 closure we are sad to share. The Homewood spot was a favorite for innovative Mexican dishes, fun patio space and a killer happy hour. Find out why the restaurant is saying “adios” for now, and what’s on the horizon.

Why is Tostadas closing?

According to a statement on their Facebook page, Tostadas will close its doors at the end of 2021. They thanked the Homewood community and their landlord for extensive support over the restaurant’s three-year run.

In classic COVID style, complications like supply chain issues and staffing shortages were a major factor in Tostada’s closure.

“…We are so grateful to the people of Homewood for your support the past 3 years. We are also blessed to have amazing landlords who went out of their way to help us succeed through all the obstacles stemming from Covid, Food Pricing and Staffing. We wouldn’t have made it this long without their help.”

Do we have time for one last marg?

Yes, if you scoot on over there. Tostadas is currently operational, and the owner encouraged everyone to get their Honey Fried Chicken Tacos and Mexican Pizza fix in a post on December 27.

The plan is to close at the end of the year (which is sneaking up on us). Owner Hal Craig shared that the closing date is up in the air, but may be Monday, Jan. 3 or Tuesday, Jan. 4, depending on a few variables. There’s no time like the present to grab a signature margarita.

What’s next for Tostadas?

Tostada’s next steps are TBD. Another contributing factor to the closure was their size. Owner Hal Craig feels that the concept may be better suited for a smaller footprint (a new food truck on the horizon, perhaps?).

Though he shared that there is no specific timeline or plan for next steps at the moment, any/all updates will be shared on their social media. So, keep your eyes peeled for news on where Tostadas might pop up next.
