Reading time: 6 minutes
December, 30 is National Bacon Day—a holiday to celebrate the crispy, sizzling staple that will make an entire room smell like heaven and tastes good on pretty much anything. Looking for the best bacon dishes in Birmingham? We rounded up 11 dishes you have to try.
1. Fancy Bacon—John’s City Diner
For National Bacon Day, we have to start out with good old-fashioned bacon, plain and simple. Except even though this dish is mostly just bacon, it’s not your standard side of breakfast plate meat.
Fancy Bacon is the main event with slow-braised Beeler’s pure pork belly coated in a Bourbon-maple glaze. Thick slices of the Fancy Bacon are served on top of roasted corn grits—yum!
