Epice, an authentic Lebanese restaurant located in Nashville’s 12th South neighborhood, is set to open their first Alabama location—and second location overall—at The Hardwick in Birmingham. The family-owned restaurant prides itself on their modern takes of classic Lebanese dishes, incorporating spices and fresh herbs for a meal experience you won’t forget.

For example, Epice’s menu includes:

  • Lahm — aromatic lamb meat balls, tomato ragout, vermicelli rice, olives & pine nuts
  • Kafta — ground sirloin medallions, house potatoes & grilled vegetables
  • Sayadeya — aromatic grilled fish, vermicelli rice & grilled vegetables
  • Lamb Shank — slow-cooked + bone-in lamb shank, white bean cassolet & asparagus

According to the Birmingham Business Journal, the owners—father-son duo Maher and Andrew Fawaz—chose Birmingham as the second location for their restaurant due to the city’s charm & the feel of Old Europe. For restauranteurs looking for that historic character, The Hardwick was an easy choice.

Located on 1st Avenue South, The Hardwick is an adaptive mixed-use project from Bayer Properties. Once complete, the project will have transformed a simple brick building into a dynamic space to live & work. The ground level of The Hardwick will be dominated by retail & restaurants—including Epice. Once complete, Epice will occupy a front-facing corner of The Hardwick & plans to hire between 20 to 30 employees.
