It’s officially December and that means the Christmas season is in full swing, along with all the traditions that make it such a special time of year. Something that’s always been a favorite holiday tradition of mine is driving around town to look at lights. So, If you’re like me and wondering which places to head to for the best Christmas lights in Birmingham, we’ve got you covered.
1. Vulcan Park and Museum
Join Vulcan Park and Museum for their Magical Nights Holiday Experience. Vulcan will be lit up with colors of the season along with a beautiful Christmas lights display. Tickets to this event include hot chocolate, music, meeting Santa and more.

2. Birmingham Zoo
Experience a Christmas lights display like you’ve never seen before with The Birmingham Zoo’s Glow Wild Event. Animal lantern displays are brought to life with colorful moving lights all over the zoo. This extensive set-up is happeing from now until January so catch it while you can!

3. The Summit
The Summit is home to some great Christmas lights and decorations this time of year. Head to dinner or a movie and stick around until after dark to see everything lit up.

4. Mountain Brook Village
Mountain Brook turns into a magical Christmas village in December, with twinkling lights wrapped around trees and throughout the squares. You’ll spot multiple decorated trees, garlands and wreaths as you drive around the area.

5. The Richardson Family Christmas Light Show
The Richardson Family has set up an elaborate Christmas display at their home that you just have to see. They even set up their own radio station that plays music coordinated with the light show.
