This Birmingham area radio station loves classic rock fans, and they want to give their fans the experience of a lifetime. They also know that the love of music is important and that young talent is all around them. According to SummitMedia, LLC Promotions Director, Justin Ragland, local partnerships make all the difference.

“This was a great way to showcase young musical talent in our area and invest in a local High School’s music program at the same time. Our partnership with the band Foreigner has become one that allows us to host these programs together and make memories and a difference locally.”

The Eagle asked Birmingham high schoolers area-wide to submit a video playing their favorite rock medley or song. This was their official submission for the contest. Of those submissions, 17 are now featured on the websiteβ€”including Davis’ video. Want to check it out for yourself? Watch down below to get a taste of the talent that Birmingham has to offer.

Along with the bragging rights of performing alongside one of the most iconic classic rock bands in history, Grayson Davis wins the title β€œHigh School Guitar Hero” plus $500 to the Hayden High School music program.

Since most schools’ fine arts budget is severely limited, this funding is so important. Hopefully, this will inspire the love of music for students who wish to follow in Davis’s footsteps.

Next, be sure to check out the rest of the submissions to be wowed by local talent. Who knew that Birmingham high schools could show out like that?

All classic rock lovers, get ready to mark your calendars. Foreigner heads to the BJCC Concert Hall on November 17 at 7:30 PM, and you have the opportunity to watch them and Grayson perform live on stage. Tickets are still available, so make sure to snag them here.

This isn’t the first time that Foreigner had Alabamaians play alongside them, either. Holy Spirit Catholic School fourth graders were chosen by 106.9 The Eagle to perform backup chorus for the band as they toured at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater in 2014.

Jam out like it’s the late 70’s again and get ready for a night filled with old fashioned rock ‘n roll. Presented by 106.9 The Eagle, “The Greatest Hits of Foreigner” will not disappoint. It’s never too late to make concert plans.
