October is here and ghoulish adventure is lurking everywhere you turn. For some kid-friendly hocus pocus, grab the fam and head to McWane Science Center in Birmingham for Spooky Science, October 30-31 and more Halloween-inspired scientific fun.

Fall is here and the excitement of sugary treats and costumes is in the air. Where will I be this Saturday-Sunday, October 30-31? At McWane, of course. Halloween weekend marks their annual Spooky Science event and it’s the perfect place for you and the kids to rock your costumes and indulge in fun activities.

Here are three reasons you should attend:

  1. You can create magic potions and ooey-gooey slime.
  2. You can meet McWane’s creepiest crawlers.
  3. Kids can dress up in their costumes and partake in scavenger hunts around the museum.

2. It’s turtle time!

Love Donatello, Leonardo and the rest of the Ninja Turtle gang? October is the ultimate time to dress as your favorite character and head to McWane.

Here you’ll find their latest exhibit—Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Secrets of the Sewer

All visiting ninjas-in-training will have the chance to master new skills in teamwork, collaboration and problem-solving through interactive puzzles, mazes and obstacles.
