Actor Brandon McCall is a Birmingham native. According to CBS42, since a young age, he has had a history of studying and performing theater in Alabama, including:

  • Graduated from P.D. Jackson-Olin High School
  • Performed at Red Mountain Theatre
  • Studied theater at Alabama State University

A connection from Bham led to Brandon’s debut on Broadway! During his several performances at Red Mountain Theatre, Brandon met his current manager, who helped him land his role in NYC.

Birmingham Broadway Star

Brandon McCall is now taking his talents from Birmingham to New York City. In The Big Apple, he will be a big star as he debuts on Broadway as Simba in Disney’s The Lion King. After 18 months of Broadway being closed due to the pandemic, Brandon will be kicking off its reopening.

Wait, there’s another Bham native starring on Broadway! Jordan Fisher will return to Dear Evan Hansen as well.

“The first big Broadway production that I saw was Lion King on tour in Birmingham, so to see that show, in my hometown, as a young kid, and now to be in New York on the very stage that I dreamed of being on, man it’s the circle of life.”

Bradon McCall said to CBS42

Brandon is excited for this new stage of life in New York with his wife, Denika Whitt-McCall. Birmingham can’t wait to watch the local actor continue his dreams on the Broadway stage. Keep up with Brandon McCall in NYC on his Instagram and Facebook.
