‘The Price is Right’ is an American TV game show for audience members to guess prices of various items and win prizes. The prizes include (but are not limited to):

  • Cash
  • Appliances
  • Vacations
  • New cars

Now in its 49th year, The Price is Right is the longest-running network TV series in the United States. The series has aired over 9,000 episodes from multiple U.S. cities The game is broken into four competitions.

  1. One Bid: Four contestants bid on one item and whoever is closest to the actual retail price of the prize (without going over the price) wins that prize and moves to the next competition.
  2. Pricing Games: One contestant (who won the one bid competition) gets an opportunity to win additional prizes and money by guessing the prices of various retail items.  Usually, this competition continues with five other contestants.
  3. Showcase Showdown: Three contestants spin ‘The Big Wheel’ that contains 20 value sections. Each player is allowed two spins and must beat the leader’s score or land on $1 value.
  4. Showcase: The two showcase showdown winners bid on different prize packages. Whoever bids closest to their package with going over the actual prize, wins the package. If both overbid, no one wins their showcase prize.
