As announced by the Birmingham Business Journal, Cushman & Wakefield/EGS is eyeing a site in North Birmingham for a new, $80M industrial park. Located along Daniel Payne Drive, the undeveloped site is adjacent to the Flying J Travel Center near Exit 264 on I-65 North.

According to Cushman & Wakefield/EGS, the industrial park will be named the CenterState Logistics Park. Once complete, the multi-phase development will include up to 1,000,000 square-feet of warehouse & distribution space for a number of industrial companies.

So, why North Birmingham? According to Cushman & Wakefield/EGS, the site lends itself to an industrial park in several ways. For example:

  • The site has instant access to I-65, and is only minutes away from I-59/20 and I-22.
  • The 100-acre property will allow Cushman & Wakefield/EGS to build either:
    • Up to seven light-industrial buildings, each between 120,000 to 175,000 square-feet, or
    • A large, 500,000 square-foot industrial building and several smaller ones

Coming to North Birmingham in 2022

Cushman & Wakefield/EGS is planning to kick off construction of the CenterState Logistics Park in early 2022, although the project could be delayed by construction and supply chain delays. The first phase of the development, a 225,000 square-foot industrial building, is scheduled to be complete by late 2022. Once the first building is fully utilized, Cushman & Wakefield/EGS plans to construction additional buildings as demand increases.
