We are pretty sure that great burgers + beer is our love language. Luckily, Whiskey Foxtrot Burger Dive, a family-oriented business, is serving up fresh, Waygu burgers, gourmet hot dogs, local beer and American whiskey. Located in the former Jubilee Joe’s, this place is your new burger destination in Hoover. Catch all the excitement on Tuesday, July 27 as they have their grand opening at their new location.

The famous catering company officially has a brick-and-mortar location that puts heart into every dish they create. Owner Joy Smith and partner Daniel Roy make it a priority to serve good food with fresh ingredients that will put a smile on their customers’ faces. Coming in August to Homewood, this is soon to become a neighborhood staple with grab-and-go options for every meal, as well as a delicious pie counter. Don’t want to wait for the café to open? No worries! Head to Birmingham Piggly Wiggly locations to try their delicious specialty—their cheesecake.

Who doesn’t love a good, old-fashioned, Southern kitchen? Named after this group of sisters’ grandmother, this classic Alabaster food truck has now landed a permanent spot on First Street. Serving all kinds of Southern goodness, they officially opened their new kitchen in late June. Because the food is phenomenal, we’d advise going early to try all of their classic menu items. We’ll be right back—running to go try the Peach Cobbler Chicken and Waffles.

4. Alabama Booksmith

This one-of-a-kind bookstore is an avid reader’s paradise; and as of July 26, they are officially back open for business. At Alabama Booksmith, every book is signed and every cover is visible, so customers are quickly able to see if that book is right for them. Located in the heart of Homewood, Alabama Booksmith is reverting to their regular hours of 10AM-6PM Monday-Saturday and masks are required. We could definitely spend hours here, and are so excited to see them make their return to downtown Homewood.
