Are you ready for some football! The 15th Annual TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl is set to play at the Magic City’s new Protective Stadium on December 28th.

This year’s game will feature teams from the Southeastern Conference and the American Athletic Conference. Kickoff is set for Noon ET/11 a.m. CT and will air on ESPN.

“We are very excited to be celebrating the 15th TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl at our brand-new venue,” said Mark Meadows, TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl executive director. “We know that everyone attending the game will enjoy the premium seating options and other amenities that are available at Protective Stadium. We look forward to hosting our two teams and their fans in yet another competitive postseason football game in Birmingham.”

More Than a Game

The Birmingham Bowl is more than a game. A week-long event, the bowl game provides thousands of fans an opportunity to visit the Birmingham metro area during the holiday season. According to the Greater Birmingham Convention & Visitors Bureau, since the game’s inception in 2006, the TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl has generated over $156 million in economic impact for the Birmingham community.

There are festivities all week, including team visits to Children’s of Alabama (we will have to see about the status of COVID in 6 months of course) and the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute.  One of the biggest highlights will be the Fan Fest and Pep Rally the night before the game at Uptown.  Here is how that looked in January 1, 2020 with the Cincinnati Bearcats band.
