Vulcan celebrates 117 years in Birmingham—here’s how to party

Grab your birthday hats for the party of the year, Vulcan’s 117th Birthday Bash. Here are five reasons to celebrate the Big Guy in Birmingham at Vulcan Park and Museum on Sunday, June 6 from 1-5PM. Save time—but your tickets here in advance.

Vulcan Park & Museum will be getting the party started with JAMM Entertainment on site mixing tracks throughout the celebration. 

Vulcan’s been known to bust a move, so be sure to grab a dance with the Big Guy during all your favorite songs.

What does every good party need? Food, of course. This year, Vulcan Park and Museum is planning delicious choices for you and the whole family to enjoy.

Big news! 117 years later and Vulcan is finally old enough to drink. Just kidding. But Vulcan Park & Museum will be offering beer and wine during the event. You’ll have to show your ID to partake in adult beverages, so be sure to bring it along.

Vulcan may be the guest of honor for this birthday extravaganza, but he’s bringing along some friends to celebrate with him. Throughout the event, expect a variety of wowing performances from the Clog Wild Cloggers and the Corazon de Alabama Dance Studio.

Admission includes: all activities, entrance to Vulcan Museum and access to Vulcan’s observation tower.

  • Safety: all guests will be asked to wear masks while on site. Hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the park. Social distancing will be encouraged.
  • Parking: limited on-site parking. FREE shuttles will be available from the parking lot at the Jefferson County Board of Education across Valley Avenue.
  • Refund Policy: this is a rain or shine event. No refunds.
