It’s back Birmingham! After being postponed due to COVID-19, The Regions Tradition is returning to the Greystone Golf and Country Club on May 5-9—and we’ve got all the details.
What to Expect
After a year hiatus because of the COVID-19 pandemic, not much has changed for the 2021 edition of the Regions Tradition, one of the PGA TOUR Champions five majors. The popular men’s senior golf tournament continues to attract legendary golfers, the South’s most sports figures and golf fans from all over the country. Most importantly, the event raises over a million dollars money for local charities.
What should you expect this coming May 5-9? Fun and excitement all week-long.
Here is a rundown.
Celebrities, coaches and former athletes participating in Wednesday’s NCR Pro-Am will kick-off the festivities. This year, all eyes will be on University of Alabama’s Nick Saban and Auburn University’s new head football coach Bryan Harsin. To the best of our knowledge it will be their first encounter on the golf links.
Local fan favorites Charles Barkley and Bo Jackson will be there, along with Alabama Basketball Head Coach Nate Oats.
In addition to these stars, below is the current 2021 NCR Pro-Am lineup:
- Kirby Smart – Georgia’s Head Football Coach
- Rodney Scott – Head Pitmaster Owner of Rodney Scott’s BBQ
- Mike Mills – Founder of REM
- Gary Sheffield – Legendary Atlanta Brave
- Clay Travis – Radio Show Host

The par-3 10th hole at the Greystone Golf and Country Club has been christened “The Watering Hole.” Centrally located and open to the public, the high-energy Watering Hole will be THE place to be with the elevated 10th green as a picturesque backdrop. Just feet from the action in the middle of the roars from an enthusiastic gallery, drinks will be served.
On Saturday, May 8th, after the golfers have finished their rounds, the Marshall Tucker Band will perform on the grounds. All you need is a Saturday tournament ticket to listen and dance to the tunes of the Southern Rock legends.
When you’re putting on a charity fundraiser, the last thing you want to have happen is a global pandemic. That’s exactly what happened with the 2020 Regions Tradition golf tournament—twice. Still, the Regions Tradition managed to raise a record $1.2 million for charities across Alabama. Simply unbelievable.
Since its inception in 1992, the tournament has raised more than $19 million.
The primary beneficiary from the tournament is near and dear to many of us, Children’s of Alabama.
Remember the gates at The Tradition open at 8 a.m. every day of the tournament and the Golf Channel will broadcast all four days of the tournament with live coverage. Feel free to bring your own chairs! There will be less seating this year than in past years.
Tickets are available at Regionstradition.com and cost $25 for general admission. All active and former military members get in for free with a valid ID, while kids 18 and under get in free with a ticketed adult.
Welcome back Regions Tradition! Let’s make this year’s tournament memorable.
