Barber Motorsports Museum is now open, just in time to cast your vote for USA Today 10Best contest

Motorcycle and car lovers rejoice!  

Birmingham’s Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum reopened on June 19th for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic closed the attraction in March. 

Here are the their business hours:

  • Monday – Saturday 10:00 to-6:00
  • Sunday –  Noon to 6:00pm  

Some amenities will be suspended including docents, premium tours, and theater access. Guests will be required to follow safety guidelines set forth by governmental officials. Including  the City of Birmingham’s ordinance to wear a face covering in public.

If you have never visited the Barber Motorsport Museum there is no place like it in the world.  A visually stunning museum, at any one given time between 750 to 800 motorcycles are on display out of about 1600 in the collection. The museum also has the largest collection of Lotus race cars in the world.

In 2018, the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum was named the best tourist attraction in Alabama by USA Today 10Best.

This week, 10Best included the Barber Motorsports Museum in a list of twenty museums and attractions nationwide to determine the best  “Favorite Attraction for Automotive Enthusiasts” in the U.S. contest.

This is how USA Today10Best describes the contest:

“Someday, we’ll all be ready to pack our suitcases again and head out on our next adventures. In the meantime, we’ll keep supporting the places that inspire us. If you’re a car geek, the USA is packed with places that celebrate these marvels of engineering.”

From car museums and factory tours to behind-the-wheel driving experiences and live auctions, these 20 attractions should be on every automobile enthusiast’s bucket list. 

Vote for your favorite car-centric attraction once per day until voting ends on Monday, July 6 at noon ET. The winning attractions as determined by your vote will be announced on 10Best.com on July 17.
