COVID-19 may have caused 2020 to be a bit of a dud, but Magic City Art Connection isn’t letting it crash their spirits, nor their party. Instead, they’ve turned their 37th annual event into its first ever week-long virtual event. Hand it to artists to have the creativity and drive to stride on. This weekend, May 1-3, boot up that computer and check out online stores from MCAC’s 2020 artists. You’ll get to view and purchase cool works of art and more. Full story.

However, Unos Tacos has hit the sidewalk running with a curbside pivot from The Pizitz Food Hall and has quickly become one of Birmingham’s taco hot spots. With Cinco de Mayo just days away on Tuesday, May 5, Unos Tacos is ready to serve all your favorite Mexican dishes. Due to social distancing and stay-at-home orders, there hasn’t been much excitement. Heads up! Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 10. After weeks of being quarantined with the kids, acting as school teachers (that math, y’all!) and trying to get our own work done, mom’s deserve some serious R&R this year. What can you get your sweet mom? Our Mother’s Day gift guide will point you in the right direction.

P.S. to the dads out there. Elementary-aged kids won’t be bringing home gifts from school this year. All present giving falls on you! Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
