Cortland Vesta is located right in the heart of Birmingham’s newest entertainment district, Five Points South. Residents can enjoy an incredible bar scene as well as beloved restaurants, including a ton of recent openings. Additionally, the area is just a short distance away from some of Birmingham’s best parks—such as Vulcan Park, Rotary Trail and Railroad Park.

Cortland Vesta’s mid-rise apartments have a suburban, community feel. However, they have access to the same amenities and central location as Cortland Vesta’s high-rise development.

Lizzie Griffiths and her fiancé, Adam Taylor, just moved into their new home in Cortland Vesta. Since both Lizzie and Adam work at UAB, they were looking for a place close to downtown, but still had a community feel.

Bham Now: Why did you choose Cortland Vesta?

Lizzie: Actually, we literally drove by Cortland Vesta and thought it was really nice. Since we were looking for a place to move into together, we decided to take a look. We wanted something newer with a big kitchen, and this was perfect. We came in on a tour and loved it—we signed the lease that day!

Bham Now: What was move-in like?

Lizzie: Move-in was sooo seamless. Since Cortland Vesta staggered move-in times, there was no one clogging up the stairs or elevators. They even treated us with free pizza and wine as a treat! Afterwards, they showed us around and made sure that everything was as we expected. Even in the midst of Coronavirus, the communication from Cortland Vesta was exceptional.

Bham Now: What is your favorite part about your new home?

Lizzie: Since I love to cook, the kitchen is definitely my favorite part. It’s so spacious and gorgeous! My fiancé’s favorite part is the master bathroom—it gives us plenty of space for both of our toiletries!

Ben recently moved to Birmingham from Nashville, and decided to settle down in Cortland Vesta. In fact, he was the very first resident to move into the mid-rise.

Bham Now: Why did you choose Cortland Vesta?

Ben: I was looking for places on the internet and stumbled upon Cortland Vesta, so I ended up calling them to learn more. I was blown away by all the features and especially the aesthetics of the apartment—in my opinion, this is the nicest place in Birmingham. So, I ended up signing up over the phone.

Bham Now: What was move-in like?

Ben: Move in day was so easy. The staff was so kind—they had welcome gifts, offered to buy us lunch, and even took my trash out. They went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I wanted and things I didn’t know that I wanted.

Bham Now: What is your favorite part about your new home?

Ben: My favorite part is definitely my wrap-around balcony. I also love the floor plan, convenience and all the features. Everything is so nice and up to date!

Originally from Texas, Mike and Linda moved to Birmingham in 1999. Although they’ve hopped back and forth since then, they decided they wanted to find a place in downtown Birmingham to settle down.

Bham Now: Why did you choose Cortland Vesta?

Mike: We’ve always been interested in living in downtown. So we did some searches and came across Cortland Vesta—after we toured, we knew this was the one. The apartments are extremely well-built, much better than anything else we saw.

Bham Now: What was move-in like?

Mike: Move-in was very smooth. Since we had already downsized, we loaded up a van and drove to the fifth floor of the parking garage. From there, it was just a short walk to get all of our things into the room.

I can’t say enough about the staff and construction crew. They’ve been so helpful in moving us in, setting up, and answering any questions we had. After we moved in, they had left us a pizza, a bottle of wine, and two welcome bags—one with things for my wife and me, and one with treats and toys for our dog!

Bham Now: What is your favorite part about your new home?

Mike: I think my favorite part is a combination of the high ceilings and big windows. I work from home, so I sit by the window and have a wonderful view of Vulcan and Red Mountain.
