Good ideas happen everywhere. And it’s no secret that Birmingham is a hot spot for innovation. The AAF Birmingham is hosting the 2020 ADDY awards this month, and you’re going to want to be there.

The American Advertising Awards is one of the advertising industry’s largest creative competitions, attracting nearly 35,000 professional and student entries across the nation each year.

The award recognizes the spirit of great advertising in all types of media, created by all sizes and types of entrants, for advertisers from every industry, from all around the country. Here are the details:

1. The Event

Cheers to creativity! There will be a cocktail hour at the beginning of the event. Following this, enjoy a delicious dinner during which the winners will be announced.

2. The Competition

Celebrating creative talent in the Magic City—we’re always up for that. The competition is fierce, with eight main categories and twenty subcategories. Curious about the ins and outs? Read all the rules here.

This year, two new categories will be awarded—Pro Bono and Corporate Social Responsibility. The winners showcased at the Birmingham ADDY awards will have made it through the first of three rounds: local, district and national.

2020 has been a record-setting year, with nearly 700 entries that have been created for clients of all different industries. These entries are judged by a group of acclaimed creatives from across the country, including New York, LA and Tampa.

3. The FUN

Dinner, a cocktail hour, a celebration of creativity—and more. Local artist Chris Davis will be emceeing the awards ceremony, so it’s sure to be much more entertaining than your average stuffy proceedings.
