UAB Women’s Basketball 2020

If you haven’t been paying attention to the UAB women’s basketball team this season, you’ve been missing out. 2020 has been a special year for the women’s basketball team.

Rachael Childress, a senior at UAB, is one of the nation’s top 3-point shooters. In fact, she’s currently ranked in the top 10 in the NCAA for career 3-point baskets made. Angela Vendrell, another senior, has been dominating the scoreboard for UAB this season.

Raising Breast Cancer Awareness with the Pink Game

Each year, the UAB Women’s Basketball team “goes pink” to raise awareness for the fight against breast cancer. During the game, the women’s basketball team and cheerleaders deck themselves out with pink apparel and accessories.

P.S. guests are encouraged to show their support for breast cancer research by wearing pink as well.

As one of the best medical centers in the country, the University of Alabama at Birmingham is working on cutting-edge research in all areas of women’s health.

During pre-game for the Pink Game, several organizations and programs will have interactive booths set up for fans to learn about their contributions to women’s health research.

Youth (12 and under) can get in to the Pink Game for just $3, while adult tickets are $5 each. Additionally, The $15 UAB Pink Game Hospitality Package includes admission AND a voucher for nachos, water and a soda.

Breast cancer survivors, those currently receiving treatment, healthcare professionals, and caretakers are invited to participate in a special recognition at halftime. To be included in this special moment, email sportspromo@uab.edu for full details.
